Showcasing the introductory level at NMSA, with an emphasis on technique, composition, and musicality.

Note: Sections 4 & 5 of the work include student initiated movement based on specific guidelines and feedback given throughout their coursework
Piece 3 – Senior Projects (Selected works)
A mixture of pop, contemporary, and personal exploration is expressed through these works created by the Seniors of the Dance Department
Piece 4 – “Something Suite” – William Miglino
A collection of Debussy compositions from Suite Bergamasque. Miglino’s choreography explores the dynamics of personal and group relationship within the context of classical ballet technique. Utilizing simple themes to approach group, partnered, and solo expressions.
Winter Dances 2020 is a showcase of the artistic and technical development of NMSA Dance Department students. The program is a collection of premiers, including new works in classical and contemporary ballet. Opening with a polonaise by senior faculty member Sheila Rozann, a contemporary work, “Der Regenshirm” by faculty member Scarlett Wynne, a Debussy suite by Dance Chair, William Miglino, , and a short collage of student choreography.
It is the goal of the NMSA dance department to impart a high level of technical acumen to accompany the developing artistry and voice of each individual student.
