Arts Experience*

NMSA recognizes the need to provide opportunities for students who have mid to high levels of arts experience and/or training in the arts and also for students with no prior experience or less than one year of arts training, but who demonstrate a strong natural ability and a desire to learn. In order to place students at a beginning or intermediate/advanced audition group, applicants must complete the following arts experience section on the admission application that describes any prior arts training.experience or no previous training/beginner with a desire to learn. It is very important for students to be thorough and accurate when submitting this information. All students, regardless of arts experience, will receive an audition and will equally be considered for acceptance.

Admissions at NMSA

Currently, New Mexico School for the Arts accepts approximately 80 students in 9th grade, and a limited number of positions may be available in the 10th and 11th grades, depending on enrollment levels. Seniors are currently considered on a case-by-case basis. Inquire for more information.
